From time to time I do excursions into the brightly coloured world of fractals. This time I tried to generate a”Newton Fractal” in Actionscript3, but it turns out to be a journey thru the borders of performance (too bad!). Still it takes round about 12 seconds to generate the fractal. For now I´m very curious ´bout the next flash player release (Codename: Astro ).
I´d be interested in knowing how long the fractal-calculation lasted on your computer ( newton[at]thisblogurl, just drop me a mail) ?
Of course there are lot´s of other nice fractals that will appear much more faster than this one. For example the julia set or the mandelbrot set.
