Warp Shader (Pixel Bender) January 30, 2009 at 11:34 am
While developing a few shaders for an upcoming Pixel Bender contest , I wrote this little warp shader. As its name implies, this shader can be used for warping images fast and smoothly without performance losses (nearly ~30fps from available 30fps). So, as you can imagine, after releasing this shader right now, I won´t send in this PB-Kernel to take part in that contest, meaning I reserved a few unreleased pbk´s therefore. ;)

Of course you can use this shader in Photoshop and Aftereffects as well. In so doing, you might make use of the tick-parameter, wich specifies a movement momentum and can be used to simulate animations within Photoshop e.g.
In conclusion I´m very curious about it who else participates in the Pixel Bender contest…
Well, “Wait and See!”

I hope they make all the entrants available for viewing like the 25-line actionscript contest. I’ve got something ready :)
Bad news Tom,
it seems that the Pixel Bender contest is limited to US residents only (read the terms on conditions…). I tried to contact NVidia ´bout that but didn´t get a response yet, so I guess they won´t change this restriction, wich means, no playground for “NON-Americans” at all.
In that case, I already canceled my entry.
I think this restriction is a pity, but let´s see, maybe they change it in the next days (hope so!)…
Cheers

Hi Frank,
I’ve noticed this same restriction in the rules.
What can we do? Be hopeful for same changes in the rules, so let’s not reveal our secret brainblowing pb-masterpieces at least yet !
Your right Petri,
let´s see things to come the next two or three days. Maybe they give a thought of changing the rules.
